Expert assistance to IMO Correspondence Group on the Development of Technical Guidelines on Carbon Intensity Reduction

At its 75^th meeting, the Marine Environment Protection Committee of the International Maritime Organization established a Correspondence Group on the Development of Technical Guidelines on Carbon Intensity Reduction, under the joint coordination of China, Japan and the European Commission. Its term of reference include the development of the draft technical guidelines supporting the EEXI and CII framework, as well as the development of a plan of corrective actions and verification requirements of SEEMP.

The Correspondence Group is requested to submit a written report to MEPC 76 in June 2021, to be first considered by ISWG-GHG 8 in May 2021. The subject of this call for tenders is providing technical assistance to the Commission as a coordinator of the above mentioned Correspondence Group.

Experts will be required to provide the assistance immediately after the entry into force of the contract and over a period of 7 months.

Maximum amount: 60.000 €

Experts who do not express their interest before the deadline will not be invited to submit an offer. The latter restriction will not apply to the minimum three experts directly invited by the Commission.

Deadline for the expression of interest is 9 December 2020 at 24:00.

Indicative date for sending invitation to tender to the experts: 10 December 2020.
