Karin Smit-Jacobs

Karin is an international and EU affairs professional with over 15 years of experience, including diplomatic roles at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and positions within the European Commission and European Parliament. She has worked across key policy areas such as climate, energy, transport, defense, and security, with strong expertise in sustainability, external relations, and EU policy coordination.

Currently running as a European Parliament candidate for D66 in the 2024 elections, she also serves as an EU Ambassador for Gender and Diversity in Transport. Fluent in multiple languages, she bridges public and private sector interests and sits on the board of Holland House Brussels, actively promoting inclusive, green, and forward-looking European policies.
