Margarita Martínez Díaz

She is an associate professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC-BarcelonaTech), as well as a visiting professor at the Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal, and an affiliated researcher with the Transportation Systems Engineering group at the Technical University of Munich. She specialises in Transport Engineering, and most of her current lines of research have a user-centric approach. Mobility is an essential part of people's lives, giving them freedom and opportunities. Therefore, she believe that efficient, safe, affordable and seamless mobility should be a right for everyone, regardless of the age, the social status, the living place... and, of course, the gender. For her, it is a pleasure to be part of the Diversity Ambassadors in Transport initiative, which is working towards this important goal.
