#connectingEUconf
The Connecting Europe Conference, organised by the European Commission and the Estonian Presidency of the Council on 21 - 22 September 2017 in Tallinn, aims at identifying policy actions and financing solutions to invest in the Transport sector with the perspective of the post-2020 EU financial framework.
The TEN-T strategic framework and the long-term infrastructure plans are key enablers for achieving EU common objectives: economic growth, jobs and competitiveness of EU economy; efficient functioning of EU single market; low-emission and smart mobility; trade and connectivity with third countries. For these purposes, we need to deliver the completion of the TEN-T core transport network by 2030 and the comprehensive network by 2050. The investment needs remain considerable: the success of our efforts will rely on our ability to identify the needs, set priorities, and deliver the expected investment results on the ground.
We invite you to learn from Maros Sefcovic, Vice President of the European Commission, Werner Hoyer, President of the European Investment Bank; Karima Delli, Chair of the TRAN Committee amongst the many high level speakers what their views are and welcome your active participation in the discussion on all these topics and to extract from project examples what best practices we need to retain.
