Workshop linked to the Action Plan on Intelligent Transport Systems
"ENABLERS FOR MULTIMODAL TRAVEL PLANNING AND INFORMATION SERVICES"

In the context of the work carried on under the Action 1.5. Promotion of multi-modal journey planners of the ITS Action Plan, on 19 December 2012 the European Commission launched a public consultation on Enablers for Multimodal Travel Planning and Information Services, in order to collect stakeholder's views on remaining challenges impeding EU-wide deployment of such services and potential measures to overcome them. The consultation is open until 12 March 2013.
This workshop aims at presenting and discussing the results of the public consultation as well as at gathering additional inputs and opinions on key issues such as
- Access to travel data,
- Aspects related to interoperability of data formats, exchange protocols and licenses, and
- Stakeholder cooperation, necessary for successful project delivery and deployment.
In addition, possible steps forward in order to enable harmonized and continuous deployment of multimodal travel information and planning services across Europe will be addressed.
The discussion will take place in 3 panel sessions, with speakers from key relevant sectors, and also reserving ample time for interaction with all workshop participants.
The results of both public consultation and the workshop will feed in the work on development of specifications for priority action (a) of the Directive 2010/40/EU, concerning "EU-wide multimodal travel information services ".

Due to the limited capacity of the room (100 persons) it might not be possible to accommodate all registration requests. It may therefore be necessary to restrict the number of delegates per organisation.
Participation is free of charge. However, the Commission cannot reimburse any costs for travel or accommodation.
