The European Commission will have a large stand in the 2024 edition of Shipbuilding, Machinery and Marine Technology trade fair (SMM), to promote European research, the Renewable and Low Carbon Fuels (RLCF) Alliance and to present how research and innovation contribute to the objectives of the European Green Deal in reaching climate-neutrality in the maritime sector.

Join the European Commission at the SMM! Commission departments for Research and Innovation (DG RTD), Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE), Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW) and the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) will be present at a common stand. It will showcase the link between the European Union’s green shipping policies and innovation, through a selection of EU research and RLCF Alliance projects, illustrating the achievements of European companies.
The RLCF Alliance unites over 260 members across diverse sectors to accelerate the adoption of renewable and low-carbon fuels in aviation and maritime transport. The RLCF Alliance will host its third matchmaking and project showcase session at SMM on 3 September 2024 from 14:00 to 18:00 CET. Throughout the week, the European Commission will hold in-person meetings between policy officers and participants to engage and answer questions on access to funding on policies such as Horizon Europe, Innovation Fund and Connecting Europe Facility.
Additionally, the European Commission will also hold a panel discussion to showcase the success stories of Horizon Europe funded projects.
