To celebrate International Women’s Day, our Ambassador Marianne Weinreich, in collaboration with fellow Ambassadors Heather Allen and Lucia Mejia Dorantes, coordinators of the Women and Gender subgroup of the Ambassadors for #DiversityInTransport Network, organised a webinar to both Ambassadors and the wider public.
We were pleased to welcome Melissa Bruntlett, Equitable Mobility Expert and co-author of Women Changing Cities.
The discussion explored how women leaders around the world are reshaping urban mobility and public space, showing how inclusive perspectives can help create safer, more accessible and people-centred cities.
Key themes included:
- The importance of representation and diverse leadership in transport
- How inclusive mobility benefits communities, local economies and quality of life
- The role of empathy, long-term vision and collaboration in driving change
