The European Commission calls for proposals to develop a mobile application where professional lorry drivers can rate their main points of interest on the road, from rest and parking facilities to areas for loading and unloading their cargo.
The aim of the project is to empower drivers to improve their working conditions by taking more informed decisions based on other drivers’ feedback – encouraging infrastructure and service providers and partners to provide better services to professional drivers.
Expected outcomes of the project:
- A reliable and user-friendly platform to access information and provide feedback on professional drivers’ points of interest
- Reduction of the existing information asymmetries in the market, helping drivers to prioritise stops and rest areas that have the highest approval ratings from the community.
- Providing clear incentives for administrators and providers to invest in better infrastructure and service quality to improve their reputation, thereby increasing consumer demand.
- Contributing to a more attractive profession for truckers alleviating the current shortage of drivers.
The call for proposals is open until 4 November 2025, 17:00 Brussels time.
