Save the date for the next edition of the EU Women in Rail Awards!

This April, the European Commission, together with Europe’s Rail, the European Union Agency for Railways, CER, UNIFE and ALE will launch the next edition of the EU Women in Rail Awards. This award honors women who have made significant contributions to advancing the railway industry, and who are actively supporting other women by creating opportunities within the sector and assisting them in overcoming obstacles.

More details on how to apply, the award categories and prizes will be available in April 2024. The award ceremony will take place at this year’s InnoTrans.

Background

In Europe, women only account for around 21% of the railway sector workforce. The European Commission is committed to increasing the number of women in transport professions, as stated in its Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy – for example through its Women in Transport Platform.
