New appointments in the Senior Management team of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport

Two new Directors have been appointed to join the Senior Management team of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE).

Mona Björklund will become Director for the Directorate 'Policy Coordination' as of 16 June. Mona Björklund is currently a Member of the Regulatory Scrutiny Board at the European Commission, which she joined in 2019 after being Head of Unit of Coordination and Planning at DG MOVE.

Kristian Schmidt, the former Ambassador of the European Union to Myanmar, has taken up the post of Director for Land Transport. Kristian Schmidt had previously served as the Head of the European Union Delegation to Uganda and held several senior positions in the European Union's headquarters in Brussels.
