National implementation plan
The Estonian National Implementation Plan (NIP) was delivered in 2017. It is fully compliant with the ERTMS European Deployment Plan.
According to the Estonian NIP:
- Estonia does not plan to remove the Class B system in existing lines with 1520 mm gauge. After equipping those lines with ERTMS, the current Class B system will be kept to provide train services from neighbouring countries. In the new lines with 1435 mm gauge, the Class B system is not mentioned.
- The Estonian NIP does not indicate the ERTMS level planned to be deployed.
