What do we want to achieve ?
The European Commission is working to improve citizens' quality of life and strengthen the economy by promoting sustainable urban mobility and increased use of clean and energy efficient vehicles.
New political challenges have emerged in recent years. Climate change, energy policy, air quality legislation and the difficulties of tackling congestion are just some examples. The objective now is to enhance mobility while at the same time reducing congestion, accidents and pollution in European cities.

Re-establishment of the Sustainable Transport Forum membership – republication of the call for applications
The Commission republishes the call for applications for the selection of members of the group of experts on Alternative Transport Fuels (‘The Sustainable Transport Forum’), and welcomes further applications until 16 December 2022 included.
New Expert Group on Urban Mobility begins work
To implement the new 2021 EU Urban Mobility Framework, a reinforced platform for dialogue and co-creation of actions was announced. The goal is stronger engagement by Member States and improved dialogue with cities, regions and stakeholders on all urban mobility issues.
