Alessia Giorgiutti, Communications & Membership Lead at POLIS and Co-coordinator of the POLIS Just Transition Taskforce

As Communications Lead at POLIS and co-coordinator of its Just Transition Taskforce, she works at the intersection of inclusive mobility, editorial leadership, and strategic communications. 

Her professional journey has been dedicated to embedding principles of accessibility, equity, and representation into the transport sector—structurally, visually, and topically. From implementing accessibility standards across digital platforms to launching communications campaigns for PRIDE, Disability Pride, and more, she has pioneered efforts to bring diversity and inclusion to the forefront of urban mobility discourse. She has edited and authored several articles addressing underrepresented perspectives in transport, including issues of race, gender, queerness, body size, and ability. 

As a young queer woman in a sector where only 22% of the workforce is female, she has driven by both personal and professional commitment to dismantling barriers in mobility systems. Through this work, she aims to continue advocating for just transition policies and amplify voices often left out of the conversation.
