Responsibilities

Prof. Dr Irina Jackiva (Yatskiv) is a Professor at the Engineering Faculty of the Transport and Telecommunication Institute (TSI, University of Applied Science) in Riga, Latvia. She serves as Chair of the PhD School, Chair of the Research and PhD Council, Director of the MSc Programme in Intelligent Transport and Smart Logistics, and Chair of the TSI Board. She has participated in more than 24 European projects, including Reskilling, WeTransform and ePIcenter, as well as more than 14 national transportation studies, acting as scientific coordinator in eight of them. Prof. Jackiva is the TSI representative in ECTRI, was a member of the ECTRI Board and served as ECTRI Vice-President from 2019 to 2021. She is also the Founder and Member of the Board of the Latvian Association of Women in Transport. She chaired the 15-minute City Expert Panel within the Driving Urban Transitions Partnership (2023–2024) and is a member of the Academic Research Board in EIT Urban Mobility. She has supervised nine doctoral theses and more than 100 Master’s theses in STEM fields. She is the author of over 160 publications and serves on the Editorial Boards of Transport and Transport and Telecommunication, as well as a Guest Editor for Springer and Elsevier. Her research focuses on data analysis, mathematical modelling and simulation applied to transportation, business and other fields. She is a strong advocate for accessibility, equity and the mentorship of women in the transport sector.
