Statement by Transport Commissioner Violeta Bulc on the severe bus accident in France

"We are all shocked to hear about the tragic bus accident that happened this morning in France close to Puisseguin, in which more than 40 people were killed and many more injured. The loss of just one life is devastating, but the scale of this tragedy will deeply affect hundreds of relatives and friends. On behalf of the European Commission we want to offer our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the persons so tragically disappeared and to the injured our best wishes for a full recovery. Our thoughts are now with the victims and their families."
