Following the adoption of the new Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR), the focus is now shifting to implementation needs. AFIR sets new requirements for recharging and refuelling of zero-emission trucks and for the rollout of hydrogen refuelling infrastructure.
To address outstanding questions concerning the roll-out of related infrastructure and discuss the state of play of market development, the Commission has decided to set up new sub-groups under the Sustainable Transport Forum (STF) on: i) hydrogen refuelling infrastructure for road transport vehicles, ii) recharging and refuelling infrastructure for zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles, and iii) EU Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) for e-mobility.
The STF is an expert group of the European Commission functioning as a platform for exchange and advice to the Commission on all matters related to the deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure.
The Commission’s Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) is therefore calling for applications with a view to selecting members of these three new sub-groups.
Duly signed applications must be sent by 8 March 2024, 17:00 CEST at the latest.
Relevant information, including the detailed instructions to submit the applications, are available in the Call for Applications and Terms of Reference for each sub-group in their corresponding page as indicated below.
- Sub-group on hydrogen refuelling infrastructure for road transport vehicles;
- Sub-group on zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles;
- Sub-group on European Union (EU) e-mobility Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) ecosystem management.
