Alstom Women of Excellence networks
Alstom is an international company. Wherever we operate, and across all our businesses and product lines, we want to create an inclusive culture in which diversity is recognised and valued. By bringing together people from diverse backgrounds and giving everyone the opportunity to contribute their knowledge, skills, experiences and perspectives, we create shared value for Alstom and its stakeholders while reflecting the diversity of our customers. This is reflected in Alstom new set of values: agile, inclusive, and responsible.
A flagship initiative is the development of Alstom’s Women of Excellence networks for the promotion of diversity and inclusion. Such networks are already in place in the United States and in India and have proven valuable tools for the promotion of gender diversity topics inside and outside the company. The networks are now expanding to Europe, the last one having been launched on 18th January 2021 for the Corporate and Saint-Ouen site in Paris, France. Together in Motion is open to all employees and its launch has attracted 500 employees (50% female/50% male) for a conference focused on ‘Understanding how gender diversity contributes to value creation and the development of innovative practices in the company’.
The network benefits from the sponsorship of a member of Alstom’s leadership team and intends to develop activities such as conferences open to all employees as well as smaller events for its members, like strategic and behavioural workshops, sessions with inspiring internal leaders, sessions with external role models. Together in Motion also intends to develop a pairing system between network members. Network members will organize the development of the initiatives and have the possibility to participate to all the activities.
It is expected that further Alstom Women networks of Excellence will develop in Europe capitalizing on existing initiatives in the UK and Italy.
