The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) is organising a stakeholder event on tourism. This will be a hybrid event, taking place in Brussels and online.
The ‘EU Tourism Stakeholder Event’ on 27 May 2025 will offer an overview of the latest EU-level developments impacting the tourism ecosystem. Key topics will include the upcoming EU Strategy for Sustainable Tourism, enhancing competitiveness and advancing single ticketing and multimodal travel solutions.
In addition to these discussions, attendees will have the chance to hear from the winners of the 2025 Capital of Smart Tourism and Green Pioneer of Smart Tourism competitions, followed by inspiring pledges from stakeholders under the Transition Pathway for Tourism.
This gathering not only serves as an information hub but also encourages networking among stakeholders. It is a perfect opportunity to connect with industry peers, learn from innovative examples, and exchange ideas to drive future success in tourism.
The event is open to all interested stakeholders and free of charge.
In-person participation in Brussels is limited and will be distributed on a first-come first-serve basis (up to 170 seats). The event will be followed by a networking lunch.

The Transition Pathway for Tourism was published on 4 February 2022. It identifies 27 areas of action for the green and digital transition of the EU tourism ecosystem, and for improving the sector’s resilience. As part of the co-implementation process of the Transition Pathway, the European Commission published an online call for commitments for public and private tourism stakeholders to commit to concrete actions. To date, over 500 pledges have been received and published to serve as inspiration. New pledges can be submitted at any time on the Transition Pathway Platform.
